CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEATHER GARMENTS

The following information only applies to genuine leather products.
As you already know, genuine leather is available in a multitude of qualities such as: Nappa, Nubuck, Suede, etc. which have their respective characteristics and material properties. But there are some common ¨Basic Rules¨ for the care of a Leather garment or product (such as a bag, etc.).

For example:

  1. When the time comes when we need to store our leather jacket, it is good to protect it in a fabric case in a place that does NOT have moisture, and the temperature of the room is normal for the season without very large daily deviations, so that " breathes' in a ventilated natural environment.
  2. In case the leather gets wrinkled, we can iron it. To iron it, we use an iron (NO STEAM) and a piece of fabric between the leather and the iron, very CAREFULLY and at a LOW temperature. It would be best, if in doubt, to have it ironed by an expert.
  3. Leathers are mostly partially waterproof and are not recommended to be worn or used while it is raining or snowing. Of course there is no fear if your leather gets wet, the only thing you should know is that you must first hang it on a hanger and let it dry on its own, at room temperature, and NOT on or near a heat source. because that way there is the possibility of its distortion.
  4. In case we notice a stain on the leather, we never try to rub it strongly, especially with a wet cloth or with some chemical such as alcohol, gasoline, etc., because in this way we will destroy the color layer and the leather itself. A problem will also occur when the leather is wet and we wipe it vigorously. Whatever cleaning is done must be gentle and with the use of an appropriate cleaning product so as not to damage the outer paint and texture of the garment. Before taking any action we recommend that you seek expert advice.
  5. We follow the cleaning instructions written on the inside of the clothes. Leather is not machine washable in any way. We give it only for dry cleaning in specialized cleaners for leather garments.
You need to be very careful with sharp objects, as well as with pets that, wanting to play, may unwittingly injure your leather garment. Should the leather tear, we never attempt to fix it with instant glue or sew it. This should be done by a leather repair specialist.
  6. The passage of time, in many leather treatments, and especially in biker style clothing, causes a NATURAL wear and tear on the GENUINE leather garment, i.e. a partial color change at the points of friction, which is normal. Synthetic materials (leatherette) do not wear out but are destroyed over time.
  7. Also, the skin softens over time due to its elasticity, and adapts to our body type in a way that acquires a unique character. Also, leather clothing stands the test of time and, acquiring a vintage look, is a unique element of our wardrobe full of emotions and memories. Please consult only experts regarding the care of your leather.
